REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum 5-10 years Supervisory Experience


Ability to identify and clearly communicate safety hazards in English (Spanish a plus).


Previous Experience on Federal Projects a plus OSHA 30 hour safety training course or higher (will be provided if needed).


Certifications: USACE QCM, Certified Healthcare Construction (CHC), ICRA related Certifications, ASHE HCC


Computer literacy for Microsoft Word, Excel, Email and Google Drive


Knowledge in the following programs a plus: P6 Scheduling, Submittal Exchange (Training provided if needed) PPE required.


 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Supervise all projects, including subcontractor work, in such a manner to insure a safe, efficient and timely operation in accordance to company accepted operational procedures.

  • Control all project costs by properly monitoring the budget verses actual reports, the manpower cost impact and material purchases. Job costs must be reviewed weekly.

  • Complete all projects on or before the time indicated on the contract. Assist the main office with a critical path report for the project.

  • Supervise all contract variations by insuring that change orders are stamped or approved by the President before change order work is initiated. Accurate job drawing(s) must be completed before final inspection on job.

  • Notify and have approval from President or Project Manager any work that is not on the blue prints or specs.

  • Insure that all projects are properly managed and that daily logs are maintained in accordance to company policy. All projects must have a log of day-to-day events completed in Viewpoint. Use additional forms if needed, but they must be descriptive and detailed.

  • Submittal review and approval to submit.

  • Review and confirm subcontractor scope.

  • Notify Project Manager of any project discrepancy or of any subcontractor behind schedule.

  • Measures exact quantities of material to be installed on a job-site from blue prints and specs. Submittals are the Superintendent’s responsibility. Material must be stored in a safe location.

  • Insure that the project is in accordance with the construction program established by the contractor and the company and that all parties perform the binding duties as defined in the governing contract.

  • Insure that all OSHA safety rules and regulations regarding personnel and equipment are adhered to and that a safety training program is in progress at all times. Safety meetings must be organized once a week. A written report must be submitted to the corporate office every week.

  • Schedule and plan manpower needed for the job(s). Main office must be notified one week in advance for increase in the labor force. Primavera updates required every month to be submitted to the PM. 3 week look-aheads to be completed every week and sent to the affected subcontractors.

  • Accurately manage timecards for each employee and send the reports to the main office on a weekly basis, including phase codes for divisions 17, 18, and 19.

  • Coordinate applicable matters regarding the construction program and daily operation with the Project Manager.

  • Insure that the project is managed in accordance with applicable union trade requirements.

  • Prepare the required reports needed for the owner to complete project(s).

  • Maintain a cordial relationship with owner, contractors, government, building occupants or other pertinent people.

Assistant Project Manager Duties include the following:



  • Assist Project Manager & Superintendent in managing one multi-million dollar projects’ both field and administrative activities

  • Oversee construction of micro projects from inception to planning to completion to ensure they are done in line with the FAR, VAR, plans, and specifications

  • Ensure projects are executed according to approved time, cost estimates and quality

  • Negotiate, analyze, and prepare purchase order agreements to subcontractors and government operated vendors

  • Assist various staff members in the Field & Project Management team

  • Formulate and implement long and short range plans consistent with growth strategies for profit

  • Review construction technical documentation for accuracy, feasibility, quality and conformance to industry standards

  • Primary line of communication between engineering, technical, construction, and project controls groups

  • Allocate necessary project resources including subcontractors, suppliers and company labor

  • Review and prepare contracts, permits, drafts, cost estimates and insurance

  • Evaluate and analyze blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements and to prepare various estimates

  • Provide value engineering recommendations to achieve budget objectives

  • Ensure customer satisfaction from the early project stages to completion

  • Act as Project Manager in the absence of the PM

  • Create and distribute weekly meeting agendas, attend meetings and records minutes as needed

  • Oversee all submittal processes, assist Superintendents in Submitting RFI’s Ability to work in a construction trailer and or use mobile technology to complete job tasks

  • Stand in for project superintendents as required for vacation/and or sick days

  • Assist Superintendents to Distribute weekly look ahead schedule to owner, architect and involved subcontractors Maintain and distribute submittal & RFI logs for multiple projects

  • Assist Superintendents in processing of job related invoices
